Gugma ako nga nimo! (i think that's how you say i love you)

So i totally forgot to grab my packet so i have no clue what my mail stuff is. My district leader said our box number is 121 (He said that it's both our po number and unit number). You don't have my google mail password because I'm sharing it through my mission email so ya. I would love some more garments, maybe just like three or four more pairs. I would also like more clothes for exercising (a couple more shirts/socks). I must say that I'm not super worried about dengue fever in utah but thanks for the tips.

Yes i did know my companion has a twin, his brother is serving in brazil and has been there since January. My companion went to utah university for a year and he's getting a degree in computer science. So ya he's a sinner but we still get along pretty well. My other room mates are pretty awesome. Their names are Elder Statsney and Elder Andreason. Elder Stastney is our district leader so we generally have a pretty good idea of whats going on all the time so that's nice. Our first lesson was last friday right after I had emailed you last... It was a total train wreck because it was completely in cebuano and we couldn't say anything because it was only day 2. We couldn't introduce ourselves as missionaries and we didn't even know how to say good bye yet so we just said Salamat! (thank you) back and forth for like a minute before getting up and walking out. It was soooooo bad. We are doing much better now though. Our lessons still aren't perfect but we are doing much better speaking cebuano and teaching. We just try to focus on teaching as simply as possible with what we know and hope for the best. The spirit really helps and is really the thing that keeps me going here. It's super stressful here but I'm feeling better. We are always so exhausted everyday. By the time we finish our last class at 9pm and we've talked in cebuano for like 3 hours we always eagerly return to our residence for some sleep. We've taught four lessons so far, our fifth happening this evening. We taught one investigator for three lessons and now we will be teaching two different investigators so loooots of lessons and preperation... yaaaay....

and ya I'm telling you that I did most of the work with that cat. She's super needy and I was always the one to take care of her during the day. She won't survive without me. I hope you have a good time in Michigan. Remember that my AP scores come in on the 4th/5th so please look those up for me and email me the results. Thanks for just forwarding the email for me and if you could do that again I'd appreciate it so much.

Kamusta!

Hey! I'm doing great! Everything has been pretty awesome. Everything felt like it was all happening at once when we first got into the MTC but now we at least have a schedule so we at least know all that is actually happening all at once. We have already started learning cebuano and we actually have a first lesson with an investigator tonight... all in cebuano... It's going to be hard but we'll get through it. The language seems pretty ridiculous. We have a full page front and back of words and phrases that we are suppose to have memorized by next saturday in cebuano, including the first vision.

My companion is great, we get along really well. His name is Elder King and he is from Kansas City, Kansas. Apparently on the day we all came into the MTC there were around 150 missionaries coming in that are going to serve in the Philippines. I am in the largest zone in the world at the moment. We had 49 new missionaries come in on Wednesday so our zone consists of over 60 missionaries. The 49 of us that all came in on the same day all are learning cebuano so there's a lot of us. An elder who has been here for three weeks was telling me that right now the MTC is just full of missionaries going to the Philippines. He said that there is almost as many missionaries learning Tagalog as there are missionaries learning Spanish and Cebuano is the fifth most language being learned in the MTC at the moment.

There is apparently a lot of traditions in the zone. Every Pday (friday) we get up at 5:30am so that we can head for the temple at 6:00am and all of us will be a part of the missionary choir. I heard that there is going to be a bunch of new mission presidents or something so members of the first presidency are suppose to be coming sometime.

I'm sure I'm missing a lot and I know that I'm not sending you a whole lot of pictures but we've been kinda busy so hopefully next week I'll have some more to send you.

Sincerely,
Elder Shirley
