Escalante -- Tuesday October 8th

Alright so in Escalante it's very very very remote. It's kinda got that small town middle of no where kinda feel. Just instead of your usual corn or wheat in america, it's ALL TUBO (sugar cane). So ya because of that I'll be having a pretty bad connection to communicate and everything back home so ya.

I've only been able to work just a couple days in Escalante kay there was another DLC (District Leader Conference) so we had to go all the way to Cebu. It was good though, they surprised us with the opportunity to do a session in the temple.

But ya Escalante has seemed pretty chill for the most part. We have a number of members trying to really help out and we have a couple people that we're teaching that are really receptive so this should be a fun transfer. Elder Auva'a is a good companion as well. He's one of the nicest missionaries I've met on the mission and ya he's just a really honest and humble missionary. This is his second area so he's still a little new to the mission but he's doing really good. It'll be fun working with him this transfer. But ya can't really say much other than that for now. I'll write about some of the people I've met next week.

Love ya!
Elder Shirley
